Amateur vet day

Pip has had a pregnancy related condition for the last few weeks where she has been unable to get up on her feet. The vet said it wouldn't improve until she kidded so the interns have been trying to make her as comfortable as possible.

Yesterday was her due day and since she appeared to be having contractions, Christy stayed up all night with her. By this afternoon the vet said Pip was probably going to need help. With a little teamwork from our niece Nicole, Christy was able to go in and bring 4(!) tiny nigies into the world. One didn't make it but so far mom and 3 girls are hanging in there. They are quite small and certainly not out of the woods yet but we are hoping for the best. How did you spend your Sunday? #nigeriandwarf #ranchlife #kiddingseason

New lamb

I looked out the office window this afternoon and saw a tiny white dot among the bigger white dots and it ended up being a new addition to the herd. #stcroixsheep #lambingseason

Podcast Episode 9: Interns! And we've been gone... to a galaxy far, far away.

This week we talk about where we have been and what has happened in our absence. Then we do a whole discussion on interns!

Bye to two pups

We said goodbye to Primo and Bandit today. They landed jobs at a northern California commercial sheep operation so will have a dream life of living amongst hundreds of ewes and lambs. Our hearts are a little broken but we are thrilled with their placement. Thanks to Mark and Sandy and congratulations on your new workforce! #bordercollies #herding #stockdogs #sheepdogs

Snake bite

Well it was insanely expensive but Rizzo's snake bite treatment has her looking almost normal already. If we can make it through the blood clotting concerns and the necrosis, she should be ok. #livestockguardiandogs #Anatolianshepherds #rattlesnakebites
