our little chicks are old enough to be outside, but not quite big enough to go into the main coop. they have a bit more growing to do. we also have both meat and egg chicks, that we will separate in the next month or two. the meat chicks will go out in the orchard to continue to grow, and the egg chicks will begin to learn to use nesting boxes and automatic waterers. but, for now, they are all in the area we normally use as our goat nursery. there is a large barn and plenty of space for everyone (and then some). chickens love to perch and roost. this spot is apparently a perfect one, as it is always full when the breeze starts to lift from the north.
